Civil workers, also known as construction workers or laborers, perform a variety of tasks on construction sites. These tasks include:

• Preparing the site: Clearing debris, grass, scrub, and topsoil


• Erecting and dismantling structures: Building and taking apart temporary structures, barricades, signage, and lights


• Loading and unloading materials: Transporting construction materials and equipment around the site


• Traffic management: Directing traffic through the site


• Mixing and pouring: Mixing, pouring, and spreading gravel and concrete


• Digging: Digging holes and preparing sites for drains and other fixtures


• Removing debris: Shoveling excavated materials onto wheelbarrows and conveyor belts for removal


• Operating heavy equipment: Assisting heavy equipment operators, securing attachments, and signaling operators


• Demolition and excavation: Performing demolition and excavation activities.
